Summer Employment Opportunities
Northeast Iowa Montessori School is running a super-fun, play-based, multi-themed Summer Day Camp in Decorah this summer for kids ages 3-7. Do you love kids? Do you love projects, games, experiments, play, and being a role model for preschool, kindergarten, and first-grade children? Then this is the place for you this summer!
COUNSELORS WANTED!
We are looking for fun, enthusiastic, and responsible counselors to join our camp staff. Counselors will help run activities such as art projects, walks, playground games, free play, experiments, and learning stations, as well as keeping a watchful eye on campers, ensuring their safety. Counselors will be expected to interact creatively and respectfully with campers, parents, staff, and others, whether in the classroom, outdoors at the school, at the park, on walks, or on one of our awesome weekly field trips.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old with a high school degree or equivalent
- Enjoy kid-oriented active and outdoor activities
- Not mind getting messy sometimes and having fun playing… a lot!
- Be a team player with a positive attitude
- Be able to pass a mandatory background check
- Have experience working with kids
- Be punctual, reliable, and responsible
Time Frame
Summer Day Camp at Montessori runs daily from June 10 to August 16.
- Pre-Camp Care is from 7:45 – 9 a.m.
- Summer Day Camp is from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
- After-Camp Care is from 3 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

- Cover letter with information about how to best contact you for an interview. If you have a talent, skill, or passion, especially one related to one of the weekly camp themes, share it with us! We look for counselors who can bring new and exciting things to share with our campers.
- Your resume. It can be simple and short. Must show recent job history, including dates and descriptions of at minimum the 3 most recent positions held.
