NEIM hosts fundraising events throughout the year to bring our community together and help raise necessary funds for our non-profit school. With fun and purposeful intent, these events are successful each year. Thank you to all our attendees and supporters both past and future!
Proceeds from NEIM events offset operating expenses of the school and help maintain low tuition rates. NEIM is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit entity. All donations to NEIM are tax deductible.
NEIM hosts “Around the World in 5 Plates” on or near United Nations Day each fall out of respect for the original vision of Maria Montessori, Italian physician, educator, and founder of the Montessori method of education. As an early supporter of the League of Nations (a precursor to the United Nations), Dr. Montessori believed strongly that education should encourage children to show compassion to others, resolve conflict with words, and collaborate with others for the good of the community. NEIM joins over 20,000 schools worldwide in educating students with these ideals under the guiding curriculum principle of “educating for peace.”
2020 Date & Location TBD.

NAME CHANGE THIS YEAR!
Formerly the Driftless Discovery Trail Run
Come to Northeast Iowa’s bluff country, a place unlike anywhere else in the state, and perhaps the Midwest to run the off-road, single track trails of Van Peenen Memorial Park.
Van Peenen Memorial Park is one of Decorah’s 13 parks that make outdoor fun and staying fit a way of life in Winneshiek County. The trails are groomed, marked and ready for the more adventurous types like you. This area is part of the outstanding 17-mile system of single-track mountain bike trails. Here is your chance to challenge your body by running them. The parks were even cause to be mentioned in Men’s Journal magazines “52 Great American Weekends” feature. Enthusiasts drive in from all parts of the Midwest to enjoy these trails. Come see why!
On your adventure to Decorah as you experience our trail run, you will find our city’s premier campground, butterfly gardens, a scenic waterfall, the Upper Iowa River tubing and canoeing attractions, hiking, biking, and walking trails; not to mention the modern twist on Midwestern charmed business district where unique shops offer gifts and gear galore! But don’t take our word for it…check it out!
A portion of the proceeds will be split between the Northeast Iowa Montessori School, the Decorah Human Powered Trails and the Decorah Park & Rec.
